Nos aventuramos a llevar a Rodaballo (Lope de Vega) a correr un Listed en la milla en Francia con el objetivo de contrastar su valor, y el potro del Pata Negra Racing Club respondió a las expectativas. Después de hacer más de 800 kilómetros para correr por primera vez fuera de La Zarzuela y a mano derecha, y tres meses después de su última actuación (que había sido solamente la tercera de su vida), Rodaballo se mantuvo en posiciones de vanguardia en todo el recorrido del Prix Millkom (La Teste de Buch, 5 de septiembre de 2020) y a las órdenes de José Luis Martínez peleó toda la recta por alcanzar al puntero, a la postre ganador, para obtener finalmente el tercer puesto y la codiciada “negrita”, marcando un valor que, a la espera del criterio de los handicappers franceses, rondará el 43 que también luce en España.
Como no puede ser de otra forma, esta performance de Rodaballo ha resultado plenamente satisfactoria, sobre todo porque se trata de un potro con poca experiencia y que aún debe tener un buen margen de mejora.
